Nerve Hydrodissection

Nerve hydrodissection is a treatment that uses ultrasound guidance in order to inject fluid around nerves that have been compressed by surrounding tissue. The goal of this treatment is to help restore normal function to nerves that have been painful, injured and/or compressed. This modality is commonly used for carpal tunnel, tingling/pain in extremities, headaches and neck/back pain.

Conditions commonly treated with Nerve Hydrodissection:

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Ulnar Nerve Entrapment at the elbow or wrist
  • Hand or forearm tingling and/or burning pain
  • Morton’s neuroma
  • Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment (Meralgia Paresthetica)
  • Lower leg or foot pain (i.e. Saphenous, Sural, Tibial, or Fibular neuropathy)

Results are often appreciated immediately, or soon after the injections. The injection can be repeated if needed.
